Courtyard

There is something mysterious about a courtyard. Something alluring.

In the old Persian culture, courtyards are the representation of paradise, pardis; with elements of shade, flowing water, trees, leaves blowing in the wind, escape from the external heat. For me it resembles something else. It captures you in a different way, an invite to introspect perhaps. A sense of enclosure and safety.
